New FMLA Forms
and Poster: Effective March 8
The U.S. Department of Labor has issued revised Family and
Medical Leave Act ("FMLA") forms and a new poster.
As of tomorrow, March 8, 2013, employers covered by the FMLA (those
with 50 or more employees) must begin using the revised FMLA forms and post the
new FMLA poster in order to comply with the final FMLA regulations issued in
February 2013. The new forms will be in effect through February 28, 2015, and
can be obtained here: http://www.dol.gov/whd/fmla/2013rule/militaryForms.htm.
As for the new poster, all covered employers must:
- Display
the new notice in a conspicuous location where employees and job
applicants can see it.
- Post
the new poster all locations, even if there are no eligible employees at
that location.
Electronic posting of the notice may satisfy the posting
requirement, provided that it otherwise meets the requirements of the
regulations.
The new poster can be obtained here: http://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/posters/fmlaen.pdf.
